Come to pray and worship Jesus in His real presence. Can you give Jesus a few minutes of love and adoration?
“In thy presence there is fullness of joy.” (Psalms 16:11)
“The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic worship. Jesus waits for us in this Sacrament of Love. May our adoration never cease.”
Pope John Paul II
“A thousand years of enjoying human glory is not worth even an hour spent in sweet communing with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.” St. Padre Pio
“The Blessed Eucharist is the Sacrament of Love: It signifies love, It produces love.” St. Thomas Aquinas
“The best, the surest and most effective way of establishing everlasting peace on the face of the earth is through the power of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.” Pope John Paul II

Traditional prayers of adoration

The following prayers are taken from the Liturgy of the Hours (Divine Office), written by St. Thomas Aquinas at the request of Pope Urban IV when the Pope first instituted the Feast of Corpus Christi in 1264.

  • O Salutaris Hostia (O Saving Victim)
  • Tantum Ergo (Down in Adoration Falling)
  • Panis Angelicus (Angels’ Bread)
O Salutaris Hostia

O Salutaris Hostia
Quae coeli pandis ostium.
Bella premunt hostilia;
Da robur, fer auxilium.

Uni trinoque Domino
Sit sempiterna gloria:

Qui vitam sine termino,
Nobis donet in patria. Amen.

O Saving Victim

O Saving Victim opening wide
The gate of heaven to all below.
Our foes press on from every side;
Thine aid supply, Thy strength bestow.

To Thy great name be endless praise
Immortal Godhead, One in Three;

Oh, grant us endless length of days,
In our true native land with Thee. Amen.

Tantum Ergo

Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui:
Praestet fides supplementum
Sensuum defectui.

Genitori, Genitoque
Laus et iubilatio,
Salus, honor, virtus quoque
Sit et benedictio:
Procedenti ab utroque
Compar sit laudatio. Amen.

Down in Adoration Falling

Down in adoration falling,
Lo! The sacred Host we hail,
Lo! Oe’r ancient forms departing
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith for all defects supplying,
Where the feeble senses fail.

To the everlasting Father,
And the Son Who reigns on high
With the Holy Spirit proceeding
Forth from each eternally,
Be salvation, honor blessing,
Might and endless majesty. Amen.

Panis Angelicus

Panis angelicus
fit panis hominum;
dat panis caelicus
figuris terminum;
O res mirabilis:
manducat Dominum
pauper, servus et humilis.

Angels’ Bread

Thus Angels’ Bread is made
The Bread of man today:
The Living Bread from heaven
With figures dost away:
O wondrous gift indeed!
The poor and lowly may
Upon their Lord and Master feed.
