FEAST DAY. July 23rd
St. Brigid was born in Sweden in 1303. She lived for a while as a lady-in-waiting to the Queen of Sweden. This is why, in our windows, St. Brigid is holding a castle in her hands. Eventually, St. Brigid married and had eight children, one of whom became St. Catherine of Sweden. St. Brigid was known for her great love for her family and for the poor. When her children were older, she founded an order of nuns. She lived in a monastery in penance and prayer. She died in Rome in 1370.
