Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these
— Matthew 19:14

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is the practice of gathering the children during the first half of mass to celebrate a separate Liturgy of the Word that is more appropriate to their level of understanding.

During the 10:00am mass each Sunday September through June, children are invited to participate in Children’s Liturgy. They return to regular mass for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

During Children’s Liturgy, the mass readings are presented in a special way for young children through songs, pictures, and stories.

Our goal is to provide an exciting and invigorating liturgical experience so that the children are able to engage fully with the Word of the Lord.

Teaching materials are obtained from an appropriate Catholic curriculum. Children are given an activity page to take home each week to help enhance their learning.

Children’s Liturgists should have a passion for passing on love of the Faith to the children of the parish, and a knowledge and zeal for the Word of the Lord. In addition, all volunteers will have completed safety training.

If you interested in volunteering to be involved with this important ministry, please call the Parish Office or contact Kathy at kmonacelli@thelittlegym.com.
